May 18, 2017 - Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller to serve as special counsel to oversee the investigation of Russian efforts to influence the 2016 Presidential election. Rosenstein determined that a Special Counsel is necessary. May 19, 2017 - Pete Hoekstra blasts DoJ Rod Rosenstein and weak-kneed Republicans for caving to fake news. Hoekstra knocked Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein for buckling to pressure this week and appointing a special counsel. Rosenstein appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller, giving him a broad mandate to investigate any matter he deems relevant. Right now the swamp is winning. Hoekstra said this is part of a larger problem facing the White House. Hoekstra said Attorney General Jeff Sessions set off the chain of events by recusing himself from investigations rising out of the campaigns. He said there was no reason for Sessions to do so since he had nothing to do with Russia. It was a cataclysmic mistake. Jun 11, 2017 - James Comey’s release of his memos to media was a carefully orchestrated act designed to shield him from any legal repercussions. President Trump’s lawyer Marc Kasowitz is preparing a leak complaint against Comey. Comey should be facing criminal charges. He leaked a government document purposefully to have a Special Counsel appointed to bring down Trump. Within hours of the Comey leak, Rod Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller, a good friend of Comey’s, as Special Counsel. On June 6, 2017 Robert Mueller hired Andrew Weissmann. Mueller and Comey must have plotted together perhaps BEFORE Comey leaked.
