Sep 9, 2018 - Floating crane hits Crimea-Russia Bridge during storm. Crane was sent adrift by heavy winds. The collision led to the partial closure of a road section. The bridge sustained minor damage, mainly on its guard rails and a lighting mast. Oct 18, 2018 - 21 killed in a Kerch, Crimea school shooting Oct 17, 2018. An 18-year old student went on a shooting spree in and then killed himself in Crimea, Russia. Terrorist burst in with a gun and a bomb. The bomb detonated, shooting shrapnel in all directions. The shooting followed. The fence there can be easily climbed over. There is no CCTV or secure door. The attack took place at the entry point for a new Crimean bridge connecting the peninsula to mainland Russia. Russian President Putin declared 3 days mourning. He is meeting with his Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi in Sochi. Russia President Putin opened railway traffic on the 19-km long Crimea Bridge, which connects the peninsula with mainland Russia and is the longest in Europe. He called the bridge a beauty as he took a ride. The trains will be packed, as all of the tickets were already sold out in November. Mostic the Cat was adopted by the builders when the project started, and became its mascot. The construction of the bridge began in 2016. Crimea flood emergency
Jun 18, 2021 Crimea state of emergency as rainfall causes flash floods, leaving thousands without water & electricity. Heavy rain caused Black Sea peninsula cities to be submerged. The heavy rain submerged Kerch, 200 houses were flooded.  Crimean Bridge blast
October 9, 2022 The truck driver might have been unaware that the vehicle was carrying explosives. The Crimean Bridge, longest in Europe, which links the peninsula to mainland Russia over the Kerch Strait, was damaged in an explosion. Russia said that a truck blew up. Three people, including the driver, were killed in the blast which temporarily halted traffic and led to a partial collapse of the highway section of the bridge. The truck crossed Russia’s southern Krasnodar Region dayd before the incident. Later, it went north for 6 hours on the night before the incident. Early Oct 8 it re-appeared in a village which is a 30-minute drive from the last place it was spotted. One hour later, it drove to the bridge and exploded. Truck was owned by Samir Yusubov, a Russian national. Yusubov claimed the truck was used by his uncle Makhir Yusubov.
