South Korea leader pledges dialogue(scroll down) New South Korea President Moon Jae-in took office on May 10, 2017. He held his first National Security Council in response to the launch, which he called a clear violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions. President Moon Jae-in said while South Korea remains open to the possibility of dialogue with North Korea, it is only possible when the North shows a change in attitude. Moon said he would be willing to go to Pyongyang under the right circumstances, arguing dialogue must be used in parallel with sanctions. Moon told Chinese President Xi that it would be difficult to resolve the issue unless North Korea stopped being provocative. Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said North Korea’s missile launches were a grave threat. www.oann.com/north-korea-fires-missile-south-korea-military

South Korea orders probe into THAAD May 31, 2017 - The United States has 28,500 troops stationed in South Korea. South Korean President Moon Jae-in has ordered a probe after the Defence Ministry failed to inform him that 4 more launchers for the U.S. THAAD anti-missile system had been brought in. 2 launchers of THAAD were initially deployed in March in the southeastern region of Seongju to counter a growing North Korean missile threat. May 9 Moon called for a parliamentary review of the system, whose deployment infuriated China. Moon’s order of a probe into the THAAD launchers came amid signs of easing tensions between major trading partners South Korea and China. China is incensed over the THAAD deployment. South Korea tour agency hopes China lifts ban on selling trips to South Korea. 74 retail stores in China closed in March after South Korea install the THAAD. www.oann.com/shocked-south-korea-leader-moon-orders-probe-into-u-s-thaad-additions

Kill NKorea power grid Oct 9, 2017 - South Korea has graphite bombs capable of paralyzing North Korea’s power supply in case of war. We can build the bombs anytime. This is a non-lethal munition used to disable enemy power grids. It contains fine carbon filaments, which form a dense cloud when the bomb explodes. The carbon fibers stick to power lines, causing shortcuts and disruption of the power supply. Cluster graphite warheads were fitted to Tomahawk cruise missiles during the 1990 Gulf War, depriving Iraq of 85% of its power supply. www.rt.com/news/406063-south-korea-graphite-bombNorth Korean defects Nov 14, 2017 - An elite North Korea soldier stationed at the DMZ bolted for freedom, defecting to South Korea, shot twice, now in hospital. About 30,000 North Koreans have defected to South Korea since the end of the Korean War, but most travel through China. www.foxnews.com/world/2017/11/13/north-korean-soldier-is-shot-while-defecting-south-says.htmlChina says Korea war must not be allowed Dec 15, 2017 - The crisis over North Korea’s weapons programs must be resolved through talks, not war, said Chinese President Xi Jinping while visiting South Korea President Moon Jae-in.
