April 14, 2017 - The US Secret Service has fired 2 officers for mishandling an intrusion on the White House grounds on March 10. Video surveillance showed Jonathan Tran scaling a fence to the Treasury Building before climbing onto the grounds of the executive mansion. He was just steps from the entrance to the White House when he was stopped, despite setting off multiple alarms for 15 minutes. Both officers had been on the job for less than a year.

April 22, 2017 ABC - Dr. Vivek Murthy has resigned from his post as U.S. Surgeon General. Deputy Surgeon General Sylvia Trent-Adams will serve as acting Surgeon General.
