Russian government resigns
Jan 15, 2020 - Russia PM Dmitry Medvedev and the entire government is resigning after President Vladimir Putin delivered his annual state-of-the-nation address. Putin thanked the ministers for their hard work and asked them to function as a caretaker government until a new one can be formed. The cabinet is resigning in accordance with Article 117 of the Russian Constitution, which states that the government can offer its resignation to the president, who can either accept or reject it. Putin is creating the position of deputy secretary of Russia’s Security Council to be offered to Medvedev. Putin proposed multiple amendments to Russia’s constitution. The Mk 41 and the 9M729 have been at the center of controversy between the US and Russia, with both sides claiming that they constituted violations of the 1987 INF Treaty.
