Ernst introduced legislation to cut down on the amount of money ex-presidents siphon from taxpayers, looking to limit their pensions and office expenses. Joni did say she knows how to cut pork. Xidents should keep getting taxpayer-funded security details, but they DONT need the pensions and office equipment. Xidents rake in millions of dollars from book deals, speaking engagements, etc. Her bill would cap the annual pension payment at $200,000 per president, and would impose a cap on how much an ex-president’s office can cost. Sep 22, 2017 - Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray regarding possible attempts by Russian operatives to infiltrate the Trump campaign. McCain appears upset Grassley asked Wray to reveal whether the FBI provided any warnings to the Trump campaign about any Russian attempts to sneak into the campaign. McCain is the only known lawmaker to have handled the anti-Trump dossier compiled by Christopher Steele. Grassley wants to find out details. The Judiciary Committee interviewed Glenn Simpson, the founder of Fusion GPS Fusion had been hired by a Hillary Clinton ally. Grassley has expressed concern that dossier may have been used by the FBI as part of its investigation of the Trump campaign. McCain was made aware of the dossier in 2016 November. Sep 23, 2017 - Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley plans to subpoena 2 senior FBI officials to question them about James Comey, opening the door for more incriminating information to be uncovered about him.
