May 9, 2017 - Tunnel collapses at Hanford plutonium uranium extraction (PUREX) plant. Highly contaminated items were stored in the tunnel, HanfordC calls this a crisis. Ssome dust escaped.
Hundreds of workers were told to take cover at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation after a tunnel full of highly contaminated materials collapsed.
The rail tunnels are hundreds of feet long, with about 8 feet of soil covering them. The incident caused the soil above the tunnel to sink between 2 and 4 feet.
"The facility does have radiological contamination right now but there is no indication of a radiological release." Henderson said.

Hanford has several underground liquid waste storage tanks. They are all failing. They can’t just pump them out because they have no place to put that material. That is why they are building the Vitrification Plant that will turn this stuff to glass.
MIGHT NOT wish to trust govt.
