Jordan strained ties with Israel
July 24, 2017 - An Israeli security guard was attacked by a local carpenter who was there fixing furniture. The guard opened fire, killing the attacker as well as the landlord, who was also on the premises. Following the incident, one of the terrorists relatives called for the Israeli security guard to be harshly punished. Usually the security guard and the embassy team would be brought back to Israel immediately. But now Jordan will not allow the security guard to return to Israel, despite his diplomatic immunity, and is demanding to interrogate him. Palestinian terror leaders have been inciting violence, and Jordan has been fanning the flames surrounding Temple Mount. July 24, 2017 - Terror attack on Israeli embassy official in Jordan. An Israeli security official serving in the Israeli embassy in Amman, Jordan, was attacked and wounded by a terrorist in his home adjacent to the embassy. Muslim terrorist was shot and killed in self defense. Furniture was being moved into the home of the security officer of the embassy when 2 Jordanian workers stabbed the Israeli officer. After he was wounded, the Israeli official opened fire. The Jordanian owner of the home was killed. July 25, 2017 - Security cameras and metal detectors removed at Jerusalem Temple Mount, but left barricades. I HATE to see Israel give in to terrorists!! Embassies are considered property of the country they represent - in this case - Israel. This was an attack on sovereign Israeli soil by a citizen of the host government. By law, the host is responsible for the safety and security of the embassy and its staff. The Jordanian government is in no position to demand anything. The 3 princes took early retirement as part of military changes underway in the Jordanian Army.
