Feb 29 2020 Doha - The USA and the Taliban are set to sign a deal to end the war in Afghanistan.
US, Taliban deal aimed at bringing peace to Afghanistan signing ceremony in Qatar today hopes to set stage for US troop withdrawal. Diplomats from Afghanistan, the US, India, Pakistan and other UN member states gathering with Taliban representatives at the Sheraton Hotel in Doha, where the peace deal is expected to be signed at 11:00 GMT.
The agreement February 29 between the Taliban and the US is not a peace deal, its the result of a precursor phase of the Afghan peace process. The Taliban and the Afghan government need to work it out without the USA.
