Jan 31, 2018 edit - President Donald J. Trump State of The Union Transcript. My fellow Americans: Our vision and righteous mission is to make America great again for all Americans. The state of our Union is strong because our people are strong. And together, we are building a safe, strong, and proud America. He named and thanked heros and mentioned the hurricanes. He mentioned Steve Scalise, who was shot. 2.4 million new jobs and rising wages and tax cuts. In God we trust, not government. We are appointing judges who will interpret the Constitution as written, including a new Supreme Court Justice, and more circuit court judges. We are defending our Second Amendment, and have taken historic actions to protect religious liberty. I am extending an open hand to work with both parties to protect and defend Americans and their right to the American Dream. Because Americans are dreamers too. Trump is committed to fighting the drug epidemic, influx and use. ImmigrationImmigration reform is necessary for our security, and our future. The Trump compromise will create a safe, modern, and lawful immigration system. - END the visa lottery and chain migration. - Fully secure the borders. A wall on the Southern border and hiring more officers. - A path to citizenship for 1.8 million illegals. Those who meet education and work requirements, and show good moral character, will be able to become full citizens of the United States. Marvin Quattlebaum was confirmed to the district judgeship on March 1 with a 69-29 vote. Cloture agreed to on 3 more, so 3 next week.
