July 30, 2021 A merchant vessel, operated by the company of Israeli billionaire, Eyal Ofer, has been attacked off the coast of Oman in the Arabian Sea. 🚢 Hijackers have left vessel off UAE coast
Aug 4, 2021 The vessel is safe. The British navy says hijackers who boarded a vessel off the coast of the United Arab Emirates in the Gulf of Oman have left the ship. The Gulf of Oman is near the narrow Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf At one point 6 oil tankers off the coast of Fujairah UAE were ''not under command.'' Iran believed to have seized the tanker. UK Maritime Ops warned of hijack the night before. 🚢 Iran attacks in Strait of Hormuz Aug 12, 2021 Suspicious activity in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz near Iran. First the Mercer Street ship was hit by 2 Iran drones, killing 2 crew, then reports came in of an attempted hijacking by Iran. ( IRGC ) Several other ships in the region recently announced they were "not under command," meaning a ship has lost the ability to steer. A cap may do this to prevent his ship being stolen, then lock the crew in a sealed room til bandits leave. The Strait of Hormuz connects the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. It's a crucial shipping lane for oil coming out of the Middle East, and Iran no longer needs it.
