The invisible realm
Both Holy and unholy angels
Why examine the giants?
You are overwhelmed with your busy life. Why should you take time to examine what the Bible and ancient texts say about the giants? After all, not many of you have unearthed a giant skeleton, and so what value could giants possibly contribute to your technologically savvy life, other than possibly an Indiana Jones adventure fantasy?
Whether you believe in giants is irrelevant, dust off those old skeletal remains, to glean infinite wisdom.
God purposed hidden wisdom in all of creation. We can see wisdom in the sun, through its rays, the planets and stars on their courses, and in their essences. We can perceive wisdom in the colors whether they are: white, black, red, orange, yellow, green, blue or violet. We can witness wisdom in an orchard or garden abloom with flowers and eatable crops.
Contemplate all of God’s creations from the smallest of them to the largest, including the giants, and with God’s help, you will find His wisdom. Be prepared to think outside of the box, for God and His ways cannot be fully understood.
Giants can be examined in many ways.
A basic study of giants could begin with a simple or literal search within the Bible, scientific community, or peer journals. You might query within the discipline of anthropology, providing you with some basic insights into a people with unique characteristics.
Study the giants in light of a myriad of hints, allegories, metaphors, and hidden or symbolic meaning of their existence.
Learn giant lessons from comparative insights of similar occurrences within the natural world.
Catapult into the secret, deep, philosophical, and possibly esoteric mysteries of the giants provided within Holy Scripture and ancient texts, if you are ready for that journey.
Think of the study of giants as a gemologist creating a diamond. Each facet is cut providing a flash of wisdom, understanding, clarity, and brilliance which is applicable to your life.
Your giant may be a literal giant, financial, health, a relationship, your job, a family member, a spiritual calling, or something else that is overwhelming to you.
When a gemologist finishes his creation, he creates a rare jewel with many fiery facets. Your study of giants may be brief or in depth, but at its conclusion, you will find yourself better prepared for the days ahead.
When God uttered creation into existence He designed natural laws to ensure that His creation ran according to His plan. This is true of the luminaries in the heavens, light and darkness, living plants, creatures, humans, and even spiritual entitles. In the case of living things, God created each unto its own kind and seed. Within the Laws of Nature various ways of propagation of species were initiated and maintained. In their own kind (Genesis 1:21) suggests that cross-breeding was forbidden. God made breath and animated the soul of living creatures. The total sum of the Laws of Nature is so vast they are beyond the scope of this work.
Although it has always been true a lesser degree, we are entering a time spoken of by the prophet Daniel. A period when evil will intend to alter time and the very Laws of Nature that God created. This evil intends to re-purpose creation into the image of them, the created gods. It is my observance that we are well into this altering of time and Laws of Nature. I can see it in the skies, the plants, the animals, and also within people. It is not natural out there, not at all. Perhaps you have noticed this alteration?
Hellenistic literature views the building of the ancient Tower of Babel as a revolt of NexGen Giants against God. (comp Freudenthal, Hellenistiche Studien, 1, 12). Up until the 9th century the tower was associated with being built by NexGen Giants. (Saadia’s Polemic against Hiwi-Balkhi, 54-56). Ancient Jewish texts connect Shinar with ‘emptiness’ and ‘Overthrow’. (Legends of the Jews, Ginzburg, L. Volume 5, p.202)
There is nothing new under the sun and this cycle of rebellion including spiritual, physical, moral, and ethical emptiness is revisiting us. The lawless one arises as the land becomes desolate. Giants and other dark entities are returning to their arid habitations. In preparation, the world is being geo-engineered (weather manipulation) resulting in many parts of the world becoming arid. Evil spirits prefer these arid locations and ruins for their haunts. Practically speaking, one should choose a lush area and preferably not a location once inhabited with ruins that may contain an evil territorial spirits, for a dwelling or resting spot.
The literary narrative goes on regarding the Tower of Babel which had incredible dimensions, particularly its height. Speculations range from 70 miles to a one year’s journey to ascend. It is claimed that the tower had had two staircases with 70 steps, to ascend and to descend. Other ancient texts reveal that the giant peoples who assembled the tower 'bore a hole in the heavens' (Sanhedrin, 109b). It is fascinating that today we also 'bore a hole to heaven' with technology, and possibly for the same reason as the ancients. The motives to acquire heaven range from sitting upon the seat of God, to surprisingly, controlling the weather. This does make sense, as this was the generation who experienced the aftermath of the Deluge. In any case, the plot was foiled and the Nex-Gen Giants were dispersed throughout the lands.
We do not have to ponder very long that when encountering people of such large stature and their megalithic fortresses it would make a deep impression upon us and would result would be fear. This is our natural inclination when we encounter the giants in our lives. We recoil in fear.
This is the first lesson in Scripture on how we are to respond, when encountering our giants. We are to fear and tremble only before our God. We are to believe in Him, His plan, and that with His help, we will overcome. We are to go one step further and that is to provide a ‘good report’ to others within our sphere of influence.
When the Children of Israel spied out the Land God had promised, only two men came back with a good report. The ten spy’s ‘bad report’ installed a language of fear and demoralized the people, resulting in a whole generation being forbidden to enter the Promised Land. God’s people were terrified in their tents and crying to go back to good ole Egypt. It is said in tradition, because the people chose to fear the giants, rather than trust God, they inherited a vicious cycle of destruction and misery. Tisha B’Av, this coming Monday evening (July 31, 2017), will commemorate that inheritance, due to their weeping over the ‘impossibility’ of giants in conquering the Land.
Let this be a lesson to us that a ‘good report’ is critical. For when one truly believes that God is control of one’s life, then the good, bad, and scary things that occur in our lives, they are part of His plan (even when we mess up). People are watching you. Your testimony is critical not only in overcoming your situation but also encouraging others in their faith and walk. Your witness stops terrorism dead in its tracks.
Let me share a personal example. I became a widow recently. Much to my amazement, people gave an account about watching my journey, from horror to healing. It was early on that the Lord prompted me to share my story from a Scriptural perspective, providing the panorama of emotion, but with hope.
This does not mean that you might that you might not be scared, but trust God and in His goodness and loving-kindness. He will see you through.
It is easy to enter into the mindset of the spies. They had been living as nomads for 40 years in the wilderness in fragile, temporary dwellings, no longer accustomed to the luxuries of the big city. The fortifications surrounding towns like Jericho must have been awe-inspiring. Our perception may be like that of the spies. Our perception of the giants may not be accurate. We may project our feelings onto the giants. Maybe the giants are strong, but as was the case in the Children of Israel, word got out to all the giants and dwellers in Canaan, of the mighty conquests done by God and His servants, we the people. These giants were dreading the arrival of the Children of Israel, so the Bible tells. We enter an era of confrontation of good versus evil; God will be our stronghold in times of trouble, with the caveat that we bear a good report of His Name. With God, even when confronting giants, all things are possible.
One last lesson in this introduction of this study of the giants: is that we must learn from the mistakes of the past. As we enter the Age of the Giant we should strengthen ourselves for the days ahead with prayer, fasting, writing Scripture upon our hearts, and repentance. We should yearn, with God’s help, to overpower our flesh. We have precious little time to spiritually and physically prepare for to combat to come with the giants. Hopefully, with our meager preparations, we will recognize the evil forces at work and our spiritual and physical amour in place; we shall be ready for the battle.
