Mar 26, 2017 - Increase in earthquake activity in Grímsvötn (Grímsfjall) volcano. Posted on March 23, 2017 by Jón Frímann Over the past few months a slight increase in earthquake activity, strongly suggests that Grímsvötn are now in later stages of getting ready for an eruption. (small) Gríms volcano is close to centre in Vatnajökull glacier. There has just been another quake along the southwest wall of Grimsfjall. A 0.7mag with 6.7km depth. this is right near the spot where the 2011 brokeout. Mar 20, 2021 Iceland volcano Fagradalsfjall between capital & main airport ERUPTS, triggering air travel warning, road closures. All inbound and outgoing flights have been briefly halted amid the eruption. The Fagradalsfjall volcano is 20 miles from Reykjavik.
