May 27, 2018 - Brit SAS and USA troops tricked their way into the ISIS base in Afghanistan by pretending to be shepherds. They they opened fire and gunned down almost two dozen. Oct 19, 2018 - General Abdul Raziq, an Afghanistan security official was killed, along with Governor Zalmai Wesa when a bodyguard opened fire after a meeting in Kandahar. US commander Gen. Sep 3, 2019 - The U.S. to withdraw 5,000 troops from Afghanistan, close bases this year under a draft peace accord agreed with the Taliban. The deal must still be approved by President Donald Trump. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has been briefed on a draft of the accord and will look at details of the deal before giving an opinion. In exchange for the phased withdrawal, the Taliban would commit not to allow Afghanistan to be used by militants to plot attacks on the United States and its allies. However, the Taliban so far refuse to deal directly with the government. U.S. withdrawal could plung Afghanistan into a new civil war that could herald a return of Taliban rule and allow international terrorists.
