Feb 20, 2018 debka - Turkey warns Damascus not to send troops to Afrin in NW Syria to help the Kurds. Kurd YPG spokesman Nouri Mahmoud denied reaching an agreement with Syria. Putin wants a summit with Turkey and Iran. Russia warned the USA support for Syrian Kurds is playing with fire. Afrin is SYRIA. Its a small Kurd area north of Aleppo and Idlib, south of Turkey. Afrin is west of Manbij where U.S. troops are based. The US military has set up a military base in Manbij in Aleppo province to protect Kurds from Turks. Syrian Kurds deny Afrin deal with Damascus for the Syrian army to enter the Afrin region to help repel Turks. There is no agreement with Syria on Afrin. There is only a call from us for the Syrian army to come in and protect the borders. The kurds are decent people that are being abused and now slaugthered. During the 8 hellish 0bamayears I liked Putin. He seemed strong and wise. If he is going to side with Turks against Kurds, Israel and/or USA, Russia will again be viewed as an enemy. The Kurds deserve a country of their own. Cut out land from Iran, Syria and Turkey for Kurdistan. Russia must cede all of eastern Syria to the United States Syria allies. Russia military must refuse all ops east of the Euphrates and south of Damascus. Putin must dump the Iran Shiite Empire and not defend it. Feb 23, 2018 - Turks and Syrians avoided a clash over Afrin enclave by USA-Russian intervention. Kurd consent to Syrian forces entering Afrin was part of the deal. Moscow guaranteed that the Syrians would not remain there or interfere with Kurds. Kurd leaders decided to take a chance on the Moscow-mediated truce rather than challenge Turk tanks. (for now) Turkey terror President Erdogan chose acquiescence (for now), since Russia will shoot down Turk warplanes over Syria. LOL! Without air cover. Turks cant beat Kurds.
