Iraq, Nahum's tomb
April 27, 2019 - US to donate $500K to restore tomb of biblical prophet Nahum in Alqosh, northern Iraq 30 miles north of Mosul. Nahum was a prophet who wrote about the end of Nineveh and the Assyrian Empire. The site is important to Jews, Christians and Muslims. For centuries the 1,500-year-old building was the site of a major Kurdish Jewish pilgrimage. Most Kurdish Jews moved to Israel in 1951. 😊 Kurdistan-Turkey border crossing
July 6, 2019 - Construction on the road leading to a future border crossing between Kurdistan and Turkey almost complete. Zete will be the third official Iraq-Turkey border crossing, and the first between Erbil and Hakkari. This is expected to foster trade and tourism between Kurdistan and Turkey. Kurdistan-Syria forming
Aug 16, 2019 - A proposed safe zone deal between Turkey, the United States and the Kurds in northeastern Syria must run the ENTIRE length of territory lying between the Euphrates River and the Tigris. I presume Kurds include Idlib. Mazlum Kobane confirmed that no firm agreement on the scope has been reached. t.co/Vhvrs1eYCfI saw some positive signs in Iraq a couple weeks ago. I think we are seeing a beginning of Kurdistan being recognized by the world.

Turk invasion Communist Kurds fault
Nov 7, 2019 - The KRG president of Iraq Kurdistan, Nechirvan Barzani, said the Marxist PKK was responsible for Turkish violence against Kurds in Syria, encouraging Kurds to criticize ourselves as much as outsiders. Barzani speaking in Erbil, the Iraqi Kurdish capital, said any Kurd who sees what is happening in Syria and what Kurds are suffering there, is sad and want things to happen in a different way, but Turkey had been transparent about its concerns with the PKK and the Syrian Kurds had not done enough to distance themselves from the PKK terrorists.
