Sep 25, 2017 Iraq - Voters are heading to the polls in a historic Kurdistan independence referendum in Iraq. Kurds have long fought for their own state. Iraq PM Haider Abadi said the vote was unconstitutional and threatened peace. He aint happy and issued empty threats. Turkey is the REAL threat. Iraqi Kurd President Massoud Barzani said that independence is the only way to guarantee the safety of his people. Kurdistan is formally recognised by Iraq's 2005 constitution. Sep 27, 2017 - The new Kurdistan is threatened with war and economic sanctions. U.S. President Trump OWES the Kurds our protection! Iranian Kurds demonstrated in western Iran in solidarity. Israel has been the only country to publicly support the referendum. Iraq PM Abadi said Kurds made a mistake, and gave them until Friday, Sept. 29th to hand over control of airports and borders in northern Iraq to the Bagdad government. Abadi demanded Kurdistan oil revenue be returned to Baghdad. Turkey and Iran a far greater threat. Empty threats against Kurdistan
Oct 1, 2017 - Iraq, Turkey and Iraq are rethinking war on KRG Kurdistan. They are considering economic sanctions. Iraq threatened to shoot down any passenger planes attempting to land at Kurdistan airports. Iraq customs impose heavy taxes on any vehicles entering Kurdistan. Weak Baghdad depends on Tehran and Turkey. Iraq cant stand up to Kurds. Turkey may reneg on the 50-year contract it signed with Irbil in 2014 in the face of Baghdad’s objections. Turkey has a big stake in Kurd oil, and so does Russia. Turkey has 4,000 companies in Kurdistan, including construction, cement and steel factories, which Ankara cant afford to sacrifice.
