Sep 13, 2017 - Iowa Senator Joni Ernst demands cap on ex-presidents payments, Obama, Bush to cost taxpayers $1 million. Ernst introduced legislation to cut down on the amount of money ex-presidents siphon from taxpayers, looking to limit their pensions and office expenses.  Joni did say she knows how to cut pork. Xidents should keep getting taxpayer-funded security details, but they DONT need the pensions and office equipment. Xidents rake in millions of dollars from book deals, speaking engagements, etc. Her bill would cap the annual pension payment at $200,000 per president, and would impose a cap on how much an ex-president’s office can cost.
