 Palm SondayPalm Sonday (April 9) when Jesus rode into Jerusalem. This year Passover is April 11, and what christians call easter April 16. Jesus arrived in Bethany for dinner 6 days before the Passover celebration. People flocked to see him and also to see Lazarus, who Jesus had raised from the dead. The next day, Jesus headed to Jerusalem on young donkey. A large crowd of Passover visitors there took palm branches and went down the road to meet him shouting, HOSANNA!  PassoverDays before the day of the Passover sedar meal that ushers in the Holiday, the Jews brought a lamb into their homes as a pet, and loved it and petted it. This is the loved lamb which was slain on the day of Passover - at the day and hour Jesus died. Christians do NOT celebrate easter (Ishtar), we celebrate Passover and His Resurrection! The Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God was crucified on Passover. The sinless Lamb of God died at 3 pm, the very time the Jews were killing their lambs for the Passover feast. In 2017 Passover is April 11th. A Hebrew DAY is from sunset to sunset, so they eat the Passover seder meal in the evening. This year the Seder is at Night fall of the 10th of April.  GethsemeneThursday* evening Jesus ate the Last Supper with his disciples. After the Seder they went to Gethsemene where Christ prayed. Read John 17 Judas came with soldiers and betrayed Jesus with a kiss. The Roman soldiers took him for a trial at night - illegal in Judaism. The priest had to put his hand on the lambs head that was to be sacrificed. The High Priest slapped Jesus - the Lamb of God's - face.
