4 Syria phony ceasefire zones
May 6, 2017 - The Russian plan to set up 4 safe zones was supposed to have gone into effect in Syria Friday night, May 5. The zones dont exist. The Russian propaganda machine worked overtime this weekend to convince the Western media that the ceasefire zones plan had won the support of the United States and Saudi Arabia. US President Donald Trump did not commit himself on zones, one way or the other. May 9, 2017 - USA, Jordan, Syria vie for control over Syria-Iraq border crossing. Washington, Amman and Damascus are jockeying for control of the Al Tanf border crossing between Syria and Iraq. The US and Jordan armored, commando and air units, including attack helicopters, are massed on the Jordan-Syria border. They are taking part in the annual Eager Lion exercise. May 11, 2017 - The U.S. military will move forward "very quickly" with plans to distribute weapons and ammunition to Kurd YPG in Syria despite opposition from NATO ally Turkey. May 12, 2017 - Moscow responded to Israel’s concerns about posting Iran and Turks on its borders to 'monitor' South Syria zones. Russia agreed to replace them with Russians in the Mt. May 12, 2017 - Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz warns Americans that ISIS is setting up shop on the Golan, Galilee borders. This was Katz’s second time in the United States in less than a month. Katz met with American officials in New York and Washington, including representatives from the White House. He warned against Iran and Hezbollah establishing themselves in Syria, and against the creation of a contiguous territory from Iran, through Iraq and Syria, to Lebanon. May 15, 2017 - USA, British and Jordan armored troops moved into southern Syria May 14 to counter Syria-Iran. They crossed from northern Jordan and took up positions to control the main road between Palmyra and Baghdad. Some of their moves were coordinated with Israel. This push is aimed at countering hundreds of Syria-Hellzballah troops. Sabaa Biyar lies west of the Syrian-Iraq border, north of the Syria-Jordan border and east of Damascus. Its important to Tehran, Damascus and Hizballah. Damascus and Tehran acted to pre-empt the US-Jordanian-Israeli military operations along the Israeli and Jordanian borders with Syria, lest they lead to the carving out of US-controlled security zones in southern Syria.
